About the event
Yoga nidra translates to “yogic sleep”. This ancient practice allows your mind and body to rest in that sweet space between waking and sleeping; aware yet deeply relaxed. It is said that within this state, our truest selves can emerge. Yoga nidra allows us to plug into ourselves in a pure and non-judgmental way in order to learn our emotions, desires and thoughts without being swayed.
Throughout this 45 minute guided meditation, you will become a witness to your body, feelings and mind, giving space to experience freely without judgement or action. As we allow our conscious mind to rest, our subconscious can surface and do necessary work. Our subconscious mind stores memories, traumas, and pre-conditioned thoughts and habits. Typically, our awareness sits within the conscious brain- what we are experiencing from the external world. Therefore, our understanding of our subconscious brain takes the back seat yet, it still dictates and controls a lot of our behaviors. If you are feeling as though your "stuff" is controlling you, it's time to explore and unpack what's been hiding underneath. Yoga Nidra is an excellent opportunity to tap into our subconscious and dig up what is buried in order to do effective, deep healing.
